How Do We Make Custom Printed Paper Straws?

  • The manufacturing process begins by taking large food paper rolls. These rolls are then cut into short narrow strips. We cut them according to the straw’s width. We normally used eco-friendly kraft paper with grammage for inner, middle, and outer layers (e.g., 120gsm, 120gsm, 60gsm).
  • 3 or 4 piles of paper layers are then fed into machines. The outer layer of the straws are printed using food safe ink substances.
  • Then we use food safe adhesive to bond the paper strip piles together. This adhesive is non-toxic and is approved by the FDA for direct food contact.
  • We then again press the tube to ensure it is properly stuck to the paper. Then we dry the glue with heat to ensure the adhesive fully cures and the straw maintains shape.
  • Then through our sharp machines we cut them according to your desired straw length.
  • To ensure it is completely water resistant we apply biodegradable coating on top of them.
  • Finally the quality checks are done and then these tubes are packed and shipped to you.
