Manufacturing Process Of Custom Food Paper Sheets

We produce these sheets in our own production facility here in the United States. We are proud to say that we do not import these sheets and just print them here. Instead we manufacture them here and then also print them here. Although it’s quite expensive for us, this way we can ensure that we are following all ISO 22000 food safety management standards. Here’s how our manufacturing process looks like.

Pulping

The manufacturing process begins with the crushing of wood pulp. It is then mixed with water that contains some chemicals. These chemicals separate cellulose fiber from lignin that increases the strength of the paper. This process is known as pulping.

Bleaching & Refining

To remove impurities from the paper the pulp then goes through a bleaching and refining process. This process gives pulp a smooth, shiny, and clean finish. If you want brown food paper then you need to just tell us and we can skip this bleaching process for you.

Sheet Formation

To make custom food sheets the pulp is then spreaded on to the mesh. This allows all the excess water to drain. It is pressed and passed through heat rollers to ensure there is no remaining water in them.

Calandering & Sizing

During calandering these custom food rolls are passed through big rollers once again that levels their surface. Once it is done the sizing agents are applied on them.

Coating

Now it is time to apply coating on these food wrapping paper sheets. This is where things get interesting. We allow you to choose different types of coating for these papers. You can go for either wax, silicone, or PE coating on these papers. Each coating comes with its own unique proposition which we will be explaining in a bit.

Printing, Finishing, and Cutting

Once the coating is dried these fast food wrapping papers are then printed with your specific designs, patterns, brand name, and logos. We use FSC certified sourcing and food safe ink substances ( soy, vegetable, or water based inks ) to print them. Not only that we print them using different printing techniques such as:
